The process is a simple, creative, motivating, and engaging way to write and publish books with your children!

• Give your child the opportunity to express their unique world-view by creating books using personal, familiar images with text from their experiences or imagination.
• Have your child create books on many themes or topics using a straightforward process.
• Showcase the end product of your child’s work in a durable, familiar and exciting format, a board book.
• Motivate your child to share their board books with others, thus dialoguing with others about their stories.
• Help your child see themselves as readers and writers.
• Encourage your child’s creativity and critical thinking skills!
• Help your child use digital cameras, scanners, and/or clip art to create illustrations for their books.
• Have your child dictate their story or use word processing software to type text. Encourage your child to reflect on the clarity and sequencing of the story (what happened first, what happened next).
• Have your child create a book plan that organizes the cover design and page layout for the story.
